Our Mission
Central Downtown Food Basket (CDFB), a 501 (c)(3) organization, reliably provides healthy and fresh groceries with Dignity and Respect to the food insecure at mobile sites throughout Sacramento.
We do this by being hands on with our distribution. Some just want a hug or shake your hand, others need someone to listen. Our volunteers pay attention to those needs while giving them the food they require. We also display our produce in a unique manner, creating a farmers market environment. We take the produce out, and display it in a style that’s pleasing to the eye. We do not hand out anything we would not eat ourselves.
All of this is accomplished at St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at 1701 L Street, and four other mobile sites.
Through their generosity they have allowed us to use their facilities to help us in our distribution of food to the seniors, low income and homeless of Sacramento.
